Clean energy is no longer just something we should do to minimize our footprints on the planet. It’s also one of the fastest growing segments of our economy and represents a significant market opportunity for British Columbia, Canada and the world. In these times of low oil pricing and the threat that some portion of known oil reserves will become stranded assets as we grapple with climate change, this opportunity is especially important. While governments have been slow to respond to these concerns, grassroots groups such as Energy Solutions for Vancouver Island are promoting community clean energy projects on their own.
