Marine Energy Feedback Submitted on Draft BC Hydro Integrated Resource Plan

SRM Projects submitted these comments on marine renewable energy to BC Hydro in response to issue of the draft 2013 Integrated Resource Plan.  The IRP is a long term vision document and we believe it needs to recognize that marine renewable energy is viable, that commercial power is being generated from it today in other parts of the world, that it will make a sensible complement to BC Hydro’s existing energy resources and that it should be included in the long term clean power portfolio vision for British Columbia.  As a further and crucial step to nurturing this important pre-commercial industry opportunity, SRM Projects also advocates for a BC feed in tariff to support initial marine renewable energy projects on Canada’s west coast.
